On Sunday, October 6, 2024, many of the artists who worked with Marshal Rosenberg, including, Christine Lavin, John Forster, Modern Man, Julie Gold, Cliff Eberhardt, Marci Geller, Mad Agnes, Neal Shulman, Robin Greenstein, Jeff & Frannie Southworth, Jamie Barnett, David Goldman, Jim Dawson and of course, Buskin & Batteau, gathered together at The Cutting Room in New York City to sing to him, remember him, and say goodbye.
Love Remembered, Love Forgot has seven new songs, two older ones we ve never recorded, and three previously recorded songs given new definitive treatments. It has guest appearances by our friends Tom Rush, Jonatha Brooke, Krista Detor, Pat Wictor, Trina Hamlin, Eric Schwartz, Yani Batteau, and Sophie Buskin. It has a dee-vine rhythm section: besides our third arm, percussionist Marshal Rosenberg, there are Jeff St. Pierre (bass), Kevin Barry (guitars), and Corey Schreppel (drums). It was lovingly produced by Neale Eckstein at Fox Run Studio.
Both the Huffington Post and the Boston Globe have published articles about David & Robin. You can read the Huffington Post article here and the Boston Globe piece here.
Hey Gang,
The April Fools will be making fools of themselves this weekend!
If you are heading to Albany, NY to attend the NERFA (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance) Conference next weekend,
The April Fools will be doing sets at two different showcases.
First up will be a showcase sponsored by Focus Music.
This showcase starts at 10:30pm on Friday, November 7 in room 175.
The April Fools 45 minute set will start as the clock strikes midnight.
And, as long as you are already up this late, and in the right room, stick around for at least another 45 minutes to hear a set
that will feature Eric Schwartz, Neal Eckstein and ... Sophie Buskin!
Then, after a short nap, on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm The April Fools will be doing an "official" concert in the King Street Ballroom.
Not going to NERFA? You still have an opportunity to catch the live stream of the Friday night/Saturday morning Focus Music showcase. Focus Music will be streaming the show, free of charge, to their members. And, it is not too late to join! You can do that here on the Focus Music website and you will receive the live stream information for both showscases. If you have questions or need help getting the link, you can email performing@focusmusic.org. And, if you can't watch the stream live, it will be available after the showcase!
More info on upcoming concerts will be posted on our Concerts page when it becomes available.
